With the way political pundits talk about the 2022 election, you’d think it’s just about Democrats defending the Senate majority. But we see it differently:
It’s about expanding the Senate majority.
By electing more Democrats and expanding the majority, we can make sure Congress works for North Carolinians and actually gets things done. We can make sure that Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans can’t obstruct our agenda to protect voting rights, expand access to health care, and grow economic opportunity in our country.
That’s all possible. In fact, North Carolina is our best chance to do that. The Cook Political Report has rated this Senate race a toss up, and CNN is saying North Carolina is one of the states most likely to flip.
And Cheri Beasley is the one who can do it. She was the first African American woman ever elected statewide in North Carolina without first being appointed, and she’s the only candidate in this race — Democrat or Republican — who has won statewide twice.
