Hello John,

As part of our commitment to empower and inform wildlands advocates like you, I'm excited to share Wildlands Network's new website!

Sustaining biodiversity requires a big-picture vision. Our efforts are strategically positioned across Canada, the United States and Mexico to preserve nature at a continental scale. We hope our new website will provide important context for you to better connect with our mission and the projects it drives.

Some great new features to point out:

  • Full trilingual integration in English, Spanish and French to reflect our multi-national presence;
  • A new-and-improved Resources section;
  • A robust set of options for supporting our work.

I invite you to visit our website. And, we love hearing from you—so send us a note to let us know what you think!

With your support, we’re creating a lasting impact for the benefit of wildlife across North America.

For the wild,
Katie Davis
Executive Director

News From the Field

Our staff are restoring and reconnecting wildlife habitat across North America.
Check out some recent highlights from across all three Wildways:

Eastern Wildway

Chief Scientist Dr. Ron Sutherland brought journalist Jimmy Tobias to eastern North Carolina's Red Wolf Recovery Area, where we've been conducting research to help save this species since 2015. Their visit, including a rare in-person sighting of some of the last remaining wild red wolves, was featured in The Nation's recent article, The Collapse of Wild Red Wolves Is a Warning That Should Worry Us All“We are somewhere between 10 and 15 heartbeats away from having no more red wolves left in the wild,” Ron said.

Western Wildway

Road Ecology Coordinator Mirna Manteca co-founded Asociación Mujeres y Conservación to empower, highlight and support women in conservation in Latin America, where this line of work remains largely male-dominated. "One day it just occurred to me that if I can’t find what I’m looking for, I can invent it,” she said. Based in northern Mexico, Mirna leads field research to ensure wildlife’s habitat can remain connected across the U.S.-Mexico Borderlands region.

Pacific Wildway

Hailing from Washington State, Conservation Director Greg Costello dove into a cornerstone concept of our work, rewilding—What Is 'Rewilding' and How Can It Help Restore Our Planet's Biodiversity?  “If we are smart and exercise precaution, we can reconnect, restore, and rewild landscapes," he said. “In doing so, we can help rebuild the resilience of ecosystems as well as our own.”

We need you, John!

Our projects depend on generous donations from folks like you. Will you give to sustain connected landscapes that promote climate-resilient communities for people and wildlife?

Thank you for supporting continental-scale conservation!
