The power of our CDF Freedom Schools® program is one of the aspects I love most about our work at the Children’s Defense Fund. This year has been especially exciting as we’ve welcomed many sites into our brand new “CDF Freedom to STEM” initiative. This program aims to immerse children in culturally responsive science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education with high-quality STEM instruction and an introduction to the wide world of STEM careers. It’s thrilling to think about all the doors that will be opened to our CDF Freedom Schools scholars as they share these new experiences and build new skills!

Before the summer ends, I hope you’ll join the movement. We’ve set a goal of 100 donations by August 12th to support growth and empowerment in CDF Freedom Schools program sites across the country—can we add your name to the list?
