Friend,
The 2020 election saw record turnout from a diverse electorate, which secured new leadership that was desperately needed in a moment beset by public health, environmental, and economic crises. But a wave of bills restricting the right to vote have been introduced by Republican legislators nationwide to make voting, registering to vote, or voting by absentee ballot more difficult and less accessible.
Thankfully, Nevada elected (no pun intended) to move in the direction of strengthening voting rights and expanding access to the ballot. Despite Nevada’s erroneous inclusion in media reporting about the subject, Nevada voters can expect more options to cast their vote in future elections.
That’s why the For the People Act before Congress is so important. This is a crucial opportunity to protect voting rights nationwide at a time when they are under attack. This week’s Out in Front is all about voting rights and the For the People Act - join us this Thursday, August 12th at 5:00PM on Facebook Live or YouTube to see Annette welcome Donna West and Kimi Cole, two Nevada Fair Fight activists, who’ve been lobbying Congress to follow Nevada’s lead and protect voting rights. Be sure to ask them about their recent trip to Washington D.C. to call on elected officials to pass the For the People Act!
We hope we’ll see you there,
