Today, in state legislatures across the country, Republicans are doing their best to make America a less democratic country. They’re erecting hurdles to stop minority communities from voting, passing laws that bar children from learning the truth about our history and casting doubt on the core tenets of our republic.

We can’t address the pressing issues of today like climate change, criminal justice, the cost of healthcare and so much more until we address this existential threat to our democracy.

That’s why passing the For The People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act is imperative right now.

Friend, I’ve made voting rights legislation a main priority of mine during this session of Congress. I’m working day and night to get voting rights legislation onto President Biden’s desk because I know how important it is to make sure no Americans are barred from exercising their most fundamental right.

While I’m legislating, my team is working behind the scenes to ensure my reelection campaign has the resources we need to win.

Right now, that means raising as much money as possible, but in the dog-days of summer, grassroots fundraising slows down immensely.

But my team tells me that if just 50 supporters from across Delaware can commit to making a small monthly donation -- even $3 would do! -- we could make up for what we’ve lost during this summer rut.
