John -- Map manipulators are wasting no time in their efforts to hijack the redistricting process in Michigan for partisan gain. We’re calling on fair maps advocates like you to help us fight back.
Here’s what happened:
In 2018, Michiganders voted overwhelmingly to approve an independent commission that would be charged with drawing new maps in a nonpartisan way. This was a huge win in our fight for fair maps.
But now, the commission is seriously considering hiring BakerHostetler, a law firm with a history of defending gerrymandering in court! Hiring this firm would completely undermine the public’s trust in the independent commission.
The NDRC is demanding that the commission find an alternative law firm with a more appropriate background. Will you join our call for transparency and fairness in Michigan by signing our petition now?
