"If there's a silver lining to this experience, it's the
compassionate support we received from the Alzheimer's Association. I
participate in Walk to End Alzheimer's so all families can receive
help during their time of greatest need."

-Herb M., Team Captain

Dear
John,

My wife, Gail, was the brains of our family - earning straight
A's toward her master's degree and changing lives as a speech
pathologist. When she was diagnosed with younger-onset Alzheimer's in
2005, I was heartbroken. I knew the disease would slowly steal away my
brilliant best friend.

The Alzheimer's Association was by our side, comforting and empowering
us through every step of our difficult journey. The support group we
attended was especially helpful, connecting us with other families who
shared and understood our struggles. I also channelled my pain into
purpose by participating in Walk to End Alzheimer's - honoring
Gail while advancing the Association's care, support and research
efforts.

I'm looking forward to walking in person this year with friends and
family. One of the most inspiring parts of Walk day is the Promise
Garden ceremony, where everyone raises colorful flowers symbolizing
their connection to the cause. These flowers have a lot of fight in
them. Because, like flowers, Walk participants don't stop when
something's in their way. We keep raising funds and awareness for a
breakthrough in the fight against Alzheimer's and all other dementia.

On behalf of Gail and all those affected, I urge you to join me and
add your flower to the fight. Register for Walk to End Alzheimer's
today.

Walk to End Alzheimer's

We're moving forward with plans
to host the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's in person
this fall. We are planning every Walk with the health of our
constituents, staff and volunteers as top priority. All events will
implement safety protocols including physical distancing, masks (where
required), contactless registration, hand sanitizing stations and
more. We will continue to closely monitor Centers for Disease Control
and Prevention (CDC), state and local guidelines to ensure events are
safe for attendees.
