Help fund our fight to stop blatant, partisan gerrymandering in states like Michigan »
John,
In 2018, the people of Michigan voted for an Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission to ensure a fair redistricting process -- but now that independence is under threat, just days before the Census Bureau releases critical redistricting data.
The commission is looking to hire lawyers to represent it in court if needed, but the only option, right now, is the law firm BakerHostetler. Redistricting expert David Daley says this firm has a reputation for "advising and defending some of the most egregious GOP gerrymanders of the last decade."
BakerHostetler lawyers have led the charge defending gerrymandering schemes across the country in the past decade -- arguing in favor of maps that gave unfair partisan advantages to Republicans in places like Ohio, Virginia, and North Carolina.
You can help stop these attempts by partisan interests to undermine fair districting in states like Michigan by funding our work. We are currently mobilizing supporters to take action on this issue in Michigan, as we continue our efforts to secure fair maps all across the country. Will you pitch in?

The people entrusted to help create fair maps through the commission process should have a track record of transparency and fairness -- not of partisan gerrymandering.
The commission has yet to finalize its decision to hire BakerHostetler. We still have time to urge commissioners to protect the independence of the process by hiring a nonpartisan law firm instead.
All On The Line is mobilizing our supporters in Michigan right now to speak out -- and Michigan is just one of the many states where we’re fighting for fair processes and accountability for map-drawers. With the Census Bureau releasing redistricting data this week, we’re entering crunch time. Can we count on your support?
