Friend,
A Republican SuperPAC just launched an attack ad blaming me for rising crime rates in the city of Atlanta! And I need you to stand with me as we call B.S.
I'll explain below, but please donate $25 now to help us fight back >>>

First, just to point out the obvious: the city of Atlanta is not even in the 7th Congressional district. So you might think they’ve whiffed on basic geography.
But the Republicans actually meant to do this. In years past, in our community, Republicans used to try to scare White suburbanites about “those people” in Atlanta. And that’s what this is really all about: your old-fashioned southern racist dog whistle.
But I’ve got news for them. This isn’t your granddaddy's suburbs anymore. This district is one of the most diverse communities in the country and I'm proud of it.
Last summer, the George Floyd protests were an important moment in our community. Everyone came together, from all backgrounds, young, old, Asian-American, Hispanic, White, and Black to stand in solidarity with the Black community and their call for justice. That clip below is of me marching with a Black Lives Matter sign during one of the protests. I have long supported the Black Lives Matter movement, and I’m not backing down from this for one second.
Now Republicans are saying this was actually all about “defunding the police” which has caused rising “crime in Atlanta.” But we call B.S.
I’ve never called for “defunding the police.” I believe in police accountability and tackling racism throughout our criminal justice system. But I also believe our police need more resources, not fewer: for better training, for community policing, for incorporating mental health and social services into their work, as well as for basic hiring and pay.
And my record supports this. I supported the American Rescue Plan which allowed the City of Atlanta to actually hire 250 more cops - zero Republicans voted for it. I supported increased funding for our Capitol police after former President Trump incited a mob to storm the US Capitol and many police were badly injured in the attack - zero Republicans voted for it.
My friend, I need your help to fight back. We are not going down this way. Georgia’s 7th is one of the most diverse districts in the country. We are the future of this country, and we are not going to let racist, Republican attacks win the day.
