John,

The GOP is operating in full force as they begin their campaigns for 2022 and 2024 … and what are they using to try and mobilize Republican supporters? Attacks on the integrity of our public systems. This time, it’s science and our nation’s top health officials.

Republicans continue to fan the flames of COVID-19 misinformation — providing unwarranted medical advice, attacking national health experts, and spreading vaccine misinformation that is killing Americans. We cannot let their baseless claims go unanswered.

Several top figures within the GOP have launched recent attacks against the nation’s top health officials and organizations, all in the hope of growing their supporter base.

While his state has become the delta variant’s epicenter, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis continues to reject mask mandates and calls the country’s current COVID-19 guidance a “Faucian dystopia.” He’s even selling merch on his campaign website that reads “Don’t Fauci My Florida.”

Rand Paul sent an email to supporters last week with the subject line “Fauci’s lies are criminal.”

When will it stop? Their rhetoric is risking lives, and we can’t allow it to continue. We cannot let Republicans create a false narrative around a global pandemic and our leading public health officials. We need your help to combat this misinformation.
