Kids in California are set to go back to school this month, many after not seeing the inside of a classroom for a year and a half. 

 

Parents agree that they want their kids to have access to quality education, but they are deeply divided on what that looks like in California.

 

One of the most controversial aspects of getting kids back into school is the debate over whether the government should impose mandatory mask mandates on ALL students ages two and older. 

 

The rules have been shifting constantly over the summer, and parents are speaking out on both sides of the issue after Gavin Newsom declared that masks would be required, but also that it will be up to local school districts to decide how to enforce it.
