Creating good, family-supporting jobs that provide living wages where workers are respected is critical to Wisconsin’s future.

Sadly, just over four years ago, Ron Johnson cheered while Scott Walker’s government wasted our taxpayer money with a Foxconn deal that turned out to be a disaster for working people while rewarding a foreign corporation with our hard-earned dollars.

Unlike Scott Walker and Ron Johnson, I have a record of fighting for good-paying jobs and even helped save a paper mill in Appleton. Sign here if you agree that our government should invest in creating good jobs — not in enriching corporations with political influence. [[link removed]]ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]

The Foxconn deal began with a lie and would have ended up costing $4,500,000,000 — 50% more than anticipated and approximately $1,774 per household.

Despite state and local governments spending $400 million on land for a promised manufacturing campus, it was never even built at all!

To make matters worse, Foxconn only created 13% of the jobs they initially promised — a horrible return on investment for Wisconsin taxpayers. Even a think tank funded by the Koch brothers concluded that taxpayers would have lost $20 billion in future economic growth if the government proceeded with the subsidies it promised.

Foxconn is a perfect example of the governing philosophy of people like Ron Johnson: give boondoggles to rich foreign corporations instead of investing in good made-in-Wisconsin manufacturing.

John, add your name here if you agree that our elected officials should try to create quality jobs for Wisconsinites instead of lying to reward powerful special interests! [[link removed]]

Onward,

Tom

Tom Nelson serves as County Executive for Outagamie, one of the worst-hit COVID areas in the nation. Local officials have been leading our country through the pandemic because Donald Trump and Ron Johnson have failed. Tom is running for U.S. Senate because we need real leaders in Washington who will take COVID seriously. And if we can take on a pandemic, we can take on anything. And if you can win in a red county six times, you can win anywhere. If you’d like to unsubscribe, click here. [[link removed]]
