John,
Did you know there’s precedent for passing immigration policies through budget reconciliation rules? In 2005, Congress paid for the distribution of green cards to immigrants using this process, which only requires a majority vote in the Senate.
Now, Senator Bernie Sanders, Chair of the Senate Budget Committee, is including about $120 billion in his budget proposal, to go toward immigration policies including a pathway to citizenship.
Read Deborah's emails about how we can use the “reconciliation” process to create a pathway to citizenship for millions of immigrants, and then send a letter to Congress to demand action!
Already, more than 12,000 have taken action. Join us in writing to your members of Congress today.
Thank you for fighting for a future that includes all of us.

Tell Congress:
"There are millions of immigrants in the U.S. who serve our communities as first responders, health care workers, food system workers and caregivers. Many are Dreamers, brought here as children; others are essential workers; and some have fled war or natural disasters in their countries of origin. I urge you to include a pathway to citizenship for immigrants currently living in the U.S. in the upcoming budget reconciliation package."

John,
Millions of undocumented immigrants in the U.S. deserve a pathway to citizenship.
During the pandemic, roughly 23 million immigrants—including 5 million undocumented people—served as health care workers, public health and safety workers, food system workers and farmworkers. Some are "Dreamers," brought here as children. Others are here legally due to war or natural disasters in their countries of origin—people the Trump administration sought to eject from the U.S. and whose status is still uncertain.
We must create a pathway to citizenship for these fellow Americans without more delay.
Join CHN and our growing national coalition. Send a letter to your U.S. representative and senators demanding Congress include a pathway to citizenship in the budget.
Congress has a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of millions of immigrants in the U.S. Each one of these people are Americans. Period. And they must be given the opportunity to become U.S. citizens.
Senator Bernie Sanders, Chair of the Senate Budget Committee, is working to include about $120 billion in his budget proposal to go toward immigration policies including a pathway to citizenship. Using budget rules known as “reconciliation,” these important and just immigrant provisions can pass with a simple majority vote in the Senate.
The American people overwhelmingly agree on this critical issue—by a 75-21% margin, according to a recent Gallup poll. It’s time for Congress to listen to the American people and deliver solutions that reflect both our shared values and our national interests.
This is a fight we can win, but with an evenly divided Senate, we can't afford to lose a single vote. John, can you take 1 minute to send a letter to your representative and senators calling on Congress to include a pathway to citizenship in the budget reconciliation package?
Thank you for all you do to demand accountability from our elected officials and to fight for the needs of working families, the vulnerable, the sick and the poor.
