Time to Withdraw from the U.N. Refugee Treaty: The Cold War anachronism is today being used by the American Left to pry open our borders. ([link removed])
By Mark Krikorian
National Review, July 28, 2021
Excerpt: Although Joe Biden’s policies are the immediate cause of the current border crisis, the UN Refugee Convention lies at the root. It’s time to undo our mistake by withdrawing from the U.N. refugee treaty.

Biden’s Empty Immigration Plans ([link removed])
By Mark Krikorian
National Review, August 3, 2021
Excerpt:The “Biden Administration Blueprint for a Fair, Orderly and Humane Immigration System” is mainly warmed-over leftovers of prior administration statements, including calls to pass mass amnesties. It improbably touts “considerable progress to build a fair, orderly, and humane immigration system” including the laughable boast that “we continue to deter irregular migration at our Southern border.”

The Morality of Borders ([link removed])
By John Wahala
Crisis Magazine, July 28, 2021
Excerpt: In just a few months, the Biden administration has either paralyzed immigration agencies or changed their mission entirely, creating a border crisis they intend to solve by effectively dissolving the border and expediting the resettlement of a seemingly endless stream of newcomers. Their actions have emboldened cartels and brought about a staggering amount of human suffering.

Immigration Judges Forbidden to Use the Word ‘Alien’: They can’t complete cases, and they should not be forced to use the wrong words ([link removed])
By Andrew R. Arthur
In January I analyzed the Biden administration’s plans to alter the terminology used to refer to “aliens”. Those changes are now being imposed on the nation’s 539 immigration judges and the 28 members of the Board of Immigration Appeals. It is a problematic move, because their job is to apply the law, and the main word they are now all-but forbidden to use — “alien” — is the law.

Suspected COVID-Positive Migrants in Texas Suggest Flaws in DHS Quarantine Policies:Are DHS and the Biden administration saying one thing, and doing another? ([link removed])
By Andrew R. Arthur
A La Joya, Texas, police officer was waved into the local Whataburger this week by an individual who was concerned about a group of individuals there who appeared to be ill. The officer discovered a family of migrants who claimed they had been apprehended several days before by the Border Patrol and had tested positive for COVID-19. This suggests there are serious flaws in DHS’s quarantine policies.

Biden Spending $3 Million Per Day to Not Build Border Wall: Report finds as much as $2 Billion wasted since inauguration ([link removed])
By Robert Law
The Senate Republican report notes that “the Federal government is paying contractors on these seven projects $3 million per day to drive out to project sites and guard the unused pallets of steel and other construction materials."

Ex-Immigration Lawyer Plays Key Role in Immigration Reform ([link removed])
By David North
There currently is some conversation on the Hill about incorporating one or more immigration measures in the budget reconciliation bill now pending. Such a bill, which needs only 50 votes plus Vice President Harris’s tie-breaker, avoids the usual filibuster rules.
