John,
Republican lawmakers across the country have introduced more than 400 bills to restrict voting rights so far this year. In 18 states, they’ve enacted them, and if it weren’t for Governor Walz and our House DFL Majority, Minnesota would have been number 19.
In the wake of Donald Trump’s “Big Lie,” the MN Senate GOP Majority passed a flurry of voter suppression laws this legislative session – including bills to establish voter ID and end same-day voter registration as we know it.
Thankfully, the measures didn’t go any farther this time. But make no mistake: If the GOP takes the Governor’s office and Minnesota House in 2022, they will waste no time finishing what they started.
If we lose this fight, we lose them all, which is why we set up a dedicated Voting Rights Defense Fund.
This unprecedented attack on our democracy is evolving every day, and we’re counting on 1,500 people to step up by the end of the week. Will you pitch in to help us hold the line?
