Chairman Harper nominated for full term by President Biden
President
Joe Biden Friday nominated Todd Harper for a six-year term on the NCUA Board.
Harper, the board's only Democrat, has served as a board member since April 2019.
This
week: Senate continues work; NAFCU hosts Summer Reg Compliance School
Though the House has left Washington for its August recess, NAFCU monitored the
Senate's actions on its roughly $1 trillion dollar bipartisan infrastructure
deal over the weekend and is watching the expected consideration of a FY 2022
budget resolution this week - which could set up another large reconciliation
package this fall. In addition, the association is preparing to host its Virtual
Summer Regulatory Compliance School, which begins tomorrow.

Treasury to offer ECIP updates during 'Ask The Fed' webinar
The Federal Reserve announced it will host a webinar on the Treasury Department's
Emergency Capital Investment Program (ECIP) through its "Ask the Fed"
program on Aug. 12. The webinar will provide a comprehensive review of the program
and will feature Treasury representatives who will outline how program applicants
should incorporate new changes into their applications.

July
jobs report reveals strong gains, large drop in unemployment rate
The
Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed non-farm payrolls increased 943,000 in July,
with the unemployment rate dipping to 5.4 percent. NAFCU Chief Economist and Vice
President of Research Curt Long analyzed the report in a new NAFCU Macro Data Flash report.
