Walking with othersWith the summer here, I decided to research into opportunities to walk with others in our local area and elsewhere in and around London. With such possbilities now being available, and with isolation and anxiety a problem for many during lockdown, this could be a good way to start to meet new people in a relatively safe way. They vary from short local walks specifically to help physical and mental health, to long hikes a train ride from London. Walking for Health England’s largest network of health walk schemes, helping thousands of people across the country lead a more active lifestyle. Walks in Barnet On hold until September. Nearly all of our directors and staff have lived experience of disability, including mental health issues and/or long-term health conditions. We believe that learning to use our lived experience for social change is a skill. We have become experts in harnessing the lived experience of our staff, members, volunteers and the people who use our services to design and deliver higher quality, more person-centred services.
