John — We’re so close to reaching our goal to bring in 5,000 grassroots contributions. But we only have a few hours left to make it happen. We set this goal after our new opponent jumped in because it’s so important to show that our campaign is building the momentum we’ll need to elect Val to the U.S. Senate — especially since a new challenger is starting out with nearly $2 million in the bank. Val is the right candidate to help bring about necessary change, because she’s already shown she can. As an early physician advocate for health care reform, she fought to make the Affordable Care Act a reality. And in her time as Chair of one of Pennsylvania’s largest counties, she raised the minimum wage to $15 and secured paid parental leave for county employees. Democrats were only 1.5 points away from winning the last time this seat was up for election, so we have a real shot at flipping it this time. But we need to make sure everyone — from our opponents to voters all across Pennsylvania — knows that she has what it takes to win this race, too.
