Dear John,

Boris Johnson announced today that he has agreed a Brexit deal with the EU. But the fight to stop Brexit is far from over.

The proposed deal will be bad for our economy, bad for our public services and bad for environmental standards.

Just like every version of Brexit, this is a bad deal.

Johnson’s deal is nowhere near as good as the deal we have now, as a member of the EU.

That is why I am more determined than ever to stop Brexit. That is why Liberal Democrats will be arguing that any deal should go back to the public in a People’s Vote.

And then will we campaign to remain in the EU.

The Liberal Democrats are the party of Remain.

We have been leading the fight to stop Brexit for three and a half years. We were the first to call for a People’s Vote, and we will never stop fighting for our place in the EU.

We know that whether it’s Boris Johnson’s deal, Theresa May’s deal or a Jeremy Corbyn deal, there is no deal as good as the one we have, as a member of the EU.

That’s why I’ll never stop fighting to stop Brexit and keep us in the EU.
