John -- With the U.S. House of Representatives' investigation of the January 6 Capitol riot, some of the most extreme Republicans from some heavily gerrymandered districts are back in the news. And none of it is good:
- The same week the House heard testimony from police officers who defended the Capitol on January 6, Louie Gohmert, Matt Gaetz, and Marjorie Taylor Greene attempted to visit accused rioters in jail and called them "political prisoners."
- Jim Jordan and Jim Banks were denied spots on the House investigation committee by Speaker Pelosi because of their support of Donald Trump's campaign to overturn the 2020 election results.
We've said it before and we’ll say it again, John: Gerrymandering empowers extreme politicians to take extreme actions -- even subverting democracy and encouraging violent rioters. If we want to prevent extremism like this in the future, ending gerrymandering is a critical step.
But with the redistricting data release expected SOON, we have very little time to make the final preparations to ensure fair maps in the next decade's worth of elections. Don't wait → please pitch in NOW to make it happen:
