GOING THROUGH MEMORIES

I spent the better part of this week going through our storage unit to get things for my apartment, organize the things that will remain in storage, and get things organized at the apartment to see what kind of storage containers or systems I might need.

I also printed off a bunch of my favorite photos that I took when traveling using Mixtiles. I'm not an affiliate or anything - I just really loved the pieces I got and they keep my years of seeing the world alive in my home. I made sure to print at least one photo from every country I have visited.

I also got some of my dad's books and miscellaneous items to use, the old typewriter from his office, and some family photos. I like having a little bit of him around this space I'm making my own for a while. It's hard to fathom that it's been 12 years since he passed away.

Going through photos and personal items made me feel nostalgic. Both for people who have passed on and freedoms we have lost. I never felt more carefree than when I set foot in the cobblestoned streets of a new city. At this point, I wonder if we'll ever be free to just hop on a plane again. Even before Covid, travel was getting more and more difficult with the ever-invasive TSA. Now it looks like we're going to have to show even more "papers" to be able to travel.

How is this even America? Today's America is certainly nothing like the country my dad fought for in the Army.

I think the difference between now and just 2 years ago is astounding. I keep these things around to remind me of the freedom that I'm fighting for myself.

The freedom to earn a living...

The freedom to criticize the government...

The freedom to not have my work censored...

The freedom to go harmlessly about my business without a permission slip...

The freedom to make my own decisions about my health and let other people make their own decisions, too...

Memories are important. They remind us of what we've lost and motivate us not to give up.

WHAT I'VE BEEN READING & WATCHING THIS WEEK
It's been an eventful week, to say the least. It's mindblowing how fast things are changing and how quickly we're sliding into the totalitarian rabbit hole. Selco has often talked about the boiling frogs...well, friends, the water is HOT.

Recently, the Center for Countering Digital Hate published a report about the so-called "Disinformation Dozen," 12 people who have written at length about natural health, vaccines, and Covid. Several people I follow online where listed by this organization, including Dr. Joseph Mercola and Sayer Ji. These guys have been on the frontlines taking hit after hit, and now this.

So I was shocked to learn that Dr. Mercola was taking down all 25 years worth of content from his website. He will be writing new content and leaving it up for 48 hours only. Here's his video explaining his decision.

James Corbett followed up with an article called Meet the REAL Disinformation Dozen, and it's truly excellent.

Much like the old Ginsu knife commercials, "Wait, there's more!" Check out these other articles and videos.

WHAT I DID TO PREP THIS WEEK
This week was all about getting organized. My daughter and I inventoried our food stockpile in the storage unit, figured out how to divvy it up, and are figuring out where to store it all. We'll be moving it this week, then going to replenish the storage unit. (Or The Bunker, as I like to call it.)
I also located my hillbilly intrusion alarms in the storage unit and got them on the doors. When my oldest daughter was little, she was a chronic sleepwalker. So I put a windchime on her door so that I'd hear it if she opened it and left her room at night.

Later when I became a single mom, I continued the practice by always hanging bells or windchines on my doors. I love the fact that my daughters have continued this tradition.

It's not super noisy, but if someone tries to come in that door, we're gonna hear them.
