I’ll cut to the chase: We need to win back rural America.

Rural Montanans are hurting right now, and we already know the policies that we need to implement to help these communities recover. But, while decades of Republican policies have left rural Montanans behind, many people in rural areas still distrust Democrats and think we look down on them.

That’s why we need more Democrats with rural roots in Congress. Folks who know how to communicate policy with rural values, and without judgment or condescension.

When I was growing up, it didn’t matter if you were a Democrat or a Republican.

What mattered was that you cared for one other, did right by each other, and allowed everyone to achieve their personal best.

Montana hasn’t yet reached her full potential -- I truly believe that the best still lies ahead for this state. But we need the right leaders and policies that will actually get us there.

I grew up on a ranch in Eastern Montana. I’ve fought my whole career for the people of Montana. I know what we need to restore rural America, and I’ll work harder than anyone to get it done.
