Congressional Recognition
This week, I was honored to present a Congressional Recognition to the Peoria Diamond Club for their dedication to making a difference in our community through their volunteer and fundraising efforts during Spring Training. With their over 500 volunteers, they have donated over $2 million to the children of the West Valley through awards, contributions, and grants for the development of educational, athletic, therapeutic, and fine art goals.

This week, I also had the honor to meet a constituent and his family that I have been proud to advocate for over the last few months. Two-year-old Woodrow Miller has a fatal neurological condition called Niemann-Pick Type C (NPC). His mom reached out to our office for assistance with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to get Woodrow access to a lifesaving drug. I wrote a letter to the FDA advocating for Woodrow and other children with NPC and will keep fighting for his access to this medication. It was an honor to meet Woodrow and his parents, Denise and Rickey—I even presented Denise with a Congressional Recognition for her tireless work to advocate on behalf of her son.
