Wolf Awareness Week

Dear Friend of
Defenders,
Who wants to shoot a wolf? More people than you might think.
Gray wolves are being hunted and trapped by the hundreds in the
Northern Rockies, where wolf reintroduction began 25 years ago. And
now, their future could be in jeopardy.
In honor of Wolf Awareness Week, we're asking our most
compassionate supporters to pitch in $15 or more to help raise $25,000
for our Wolf and Wildlife Legacy Fund, to fight for the future of
vulnerable gray wolves and wildlife across the country.
Your gift of $15 or more will keep wolves here for future generations
- please pitch in to our Wolf and Wildlife Legacy Fund and fight
back for wolves right now!

Friend of
Defenders, unless we step up, the
success of our wolf restoration efforts could be at risk.
In Wyoming, you can already shoot as many wolves as you want in 80% of
the state.
And while you can't kill wolves in Yellowstone National Park,
you can hunt a Yellowstone wolf if it takes a single step outside the
park boundary. Some of the world's best-loved Yellowstone wolves
have been killed not far outside the park.
Not to be outdone, in Idaho, the state even helps fund a bounty of up
to $1,000 to kill a wolf.
We need your help to keep wolves safe: Your $15+ gift to the Wolf and
Wildlife Legacy Fund will make a difference for our most vulnerable
wildlife!

Wolf restoration is a story without an ending. And
Friend of
Defenders, believe me when I tell
you that there are plenty of powerful people out there who want
nothing more than to turn back the clock on wolf restoration; some
even want to exterminate wolves once again across the Northern
Rockies.
And with the pending federal delisting of gray wolves, these beloved
animals could be at the mercy of hostile anti-wolf state governments.
We can stop gray wolves from disappearing again - will you join
us in fighting to keep them safe?

With your support, we're keeping experts on the ground in wolf
country. We're in court fighting for wolves. And we're
organizing public support for wolves, bears and so many more imperiled
species.
Help us give the story of America's wolves a happy ending.
Thank you in advance for your generous support.
Sincerely,
Jamie Rappaport Clark
