With a moratorium on fundraising during the 87th Texas Legislative Session, many campaign accounts could not begin accepting contributions until June 21, 2021. In the ten days before the end of the reporting period, the post-session donation frenzy began. According to the TEC’s semiannual data, candidates and PACs received over $106.4 million in contributions during the first half of 2021.
