"But you do see! Indeed you note trouble and grief, that you may take it into your hands; the helpless commit themselves to you; you have been the helper of the orphan."

- Psalm 10:14

Africa & Europe
Pray for the IJM Ghana team as they are in the process of recalibrating their rescue methods to adapt to the changing realities on Lake Volta. The team has been doing targeted rescues of trafficking victims for several years, and there is a trend of children being moved to more and more remote islands or uninhabited areas along the lake. Pray for wisdom, insight and clarity for the team to know how to move forward as it becomes more challenging to rescue children.
Latin America
Pray for our IJM Bolivia team and our partner at Red PREVIENES, a local network of nonprofits working to build holistic prevention of and a society free of sexual violence. August 9 is Bolivia’s National Day of Solidarity with victims of sexual aggression and against sexual violence against children, and there will be several activities happening through the week to raise awareness and share more about the existing legislation to prevent this crime. Pray that these activities and this partnership will be fruitful and would bring more awareness of the issue throughout Bolivia.
South Asia
Praise God for the conviction of two traffickers who exploited five girls and young women in a busy city brothel. IJM had supported local authorities to rescue the victims back in 2015, and since then we have supported prosecutors in the long legal trial. The traffickers’ lawyer tried many times to delay the case — even by filing bogus claims against IJM staff. Praise God the truth was finally revealed and that these two abusers will be held accountable. Please pray for just sentencing in the next few weeks and for official closure of their brothel.
Southeast Asia
Please pray for IJM’s Forced Labor Slavery Hub as they prepare for program expansion into Indonesia. One of the first steps to program expansion is an in-country assessment. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, the team is unable to travel to Indonesia for this assessment. Please pray that the team will still be able to conduct all necessary steps from outside of Indonesia and that the assessment goes well, so that we can get to the work of providing rescue, protection and restoration more quickly.
IJM HQ
Please join us in praying for a large Canadian event that will be taking place in Kelowna. This event will bring together key influencers, athletes and professionals for a concert with Dean Brody to benefit IJM. Pray for favor over the logistics of the event and those in attendance. Pray for new partnerships to be made and for the mission of IJM to be impressed on the hearts of those who attend for years to come.

The updates we share on survivors or their cases can become sensitive over time. To respect and protect
them, please refrain from posting these prayer requests online.
