This week we saw just how powerful your voice can be!

I know it's sometimes exhausting to fight back against each new attack on hungry people by the Trump administration--especially when there are so many! Their recent proposed rule to make poor immigrant families choose between food assistance and their chance to become permanent residents was blocked in federal court on Friday. This means this mean-spirited rule cannot go into effect. Period.

In his ruling, the judge said, "It is repugnant to the American Dream of the opportunity for prosperity and success through hard work and upward mobility." In proposing the rule, the Department of Homeland Security failed to consider its harmful consequences, which were illustrated in comment after comment submitted by members of the public, like you, from across the country.

Thank you. This is what happens when committed citizens who care about hungry people and our food system speak up.
