New, Lower Costs on Marketplace Health Insurance Plans

You may be eligible for more savings and lower costs on health coverage through the Health
Insurance Marketplace due to the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021.

What?s new:

  • More people than ever before qualify for tax credits that lower the cost of health?coverage, even those who weren?t eligible in the past.
  • Most people currently enrolled in a Marketplace plan will qualify for more tax credits.
  • Health insurance premiums after these new savings will go down.
  • 4 out of 5 customers can find a plan for $10 or less per month.

Fill out and submit your application on HealthCare.gov (or CuidadoDeSalud.gov for Spanish?speakers) by August 15, 2021. After you submit your application, you have 30 days to enroll in?a plan. Coverage starts the first day of the month after you enroll.?

Did you know there are nearly 1,000 Small Business Development Centers across the United States? These SBA resource partners provide no-cost business consulting and low-cost training to new and existing business owners like Nancy Garcia.

Nancy has been the CEO of Noble Machine in Houston for nearly two decades and in 2019, she received help from her local Small Business Development Center to overcome business challenges. In 2020, Nancy?s company was named Houston District Office?s Women-Owned Small Business of the Year.

Beware of malicious COVID-19 phishing

?

As a reminder,?SBA directly communicates from email addresses ending in @sba.gov. SBA also communicates via email updates/notifications using an email marketing platform, (the same one you are receiving this newsletter from). Those emails end in @updates.sba.gov.

If you applied for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant and emailed the SVOG Support Center, you may receive an email back from a zendesk.com account. This is an authorized SBA contractor.

If you are being contacted by someone claiming to be from the SBA who is not using an official SBA email address, you should suspect fraud.?To report potential fraud, visit sba.gov/covidfraudalert.
