H.R. 4 -- also known as the John Lewis Voting Rights Act -- would strengthen the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
Ever since the Supreme Court decided Shelby County v. Holder in 2013, Republican-held state houses across the country have been restricting the right to vote wherever they see an opportunity.
We have the opportunity to change everything, John.
H.R. 4 would strengthen the provisions we lost in 2013 and ensure every American has equal access to the ballot box.
But thatβs only if it passes.
And with the Senate already striking down H.R. 1 using the filibuster earlier this year, this is going to be an uphill battle.
So we need a huge outpouring of support from grassroots Democrats like you, John. Please, add your name and tell the Senate to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Act Β» [[link removed]]
