Friend,
In the next few days, the Senate is expected to hold a final vote on a bipartisan infrastructure bill that will revitalize our nation’s transportation systems, replace outdated lead pipes, and invest in clean energy — but it’s only a fraction of the funding President Biden laid out in the American Jobs Plan.
Just this summer, extreme heat, deadly wildfires, and devastating floods have threatened communities in the United States and around the world. The climate crisis is here, and it will get much worse if Congress fails to take the necessary action.
Democrats in Congress have the numbers to make a once-in-a-generation investment to combat climate change and shift to a clean energy future — but they need to hear from you.
Send a message to Congress: Pass the full American Jobs Plan via budget reconciliation so we can make urgent investments in clean energy and climate action.
While we certainly welcome any legislation that makes long overdue investments to repair our infrastructure and create good-paying jobs, it’s clear that there’s more work to be done.
When it’s time to pass a reconciliation bill this fall, progressives must remain steadfast in their commitments to climate justice by creating a new Civilian Climate Corps, implementing a national clean energy standard, replacing all lead pipes nationwide, and eliminating tax subsidies for fossil fuel corporations.
We can’t afford to squander this historic opportunity to address the climate crisis. By speaking out, we have the power to hold Congress accountable and ensure they keep their promises on climate action.
Tell Congress: Pass the entire American Jobs Plan through reconciliation so we can transition to 100 percent clean energy and lead on the fight against climate change.
Thank you,
