Friend,
We need your help today to demand bolder climate action.
Yesterday, the Biden administration announced a target for U.S. automakers to reach 50% electric car sales by 2030.
That may sound like a lot, but after losing four urgent years of potential climate action to Donald Trump, we're going to need to be even more aggressive than that. To meet our climate goals, we have to stop selling gas-guzzling cars by no later than 2035 (ideally, much sooner). And to get to 100% clean car sales on the needed timeline, we must reach at least 60%, not 50%, by 2030. The Biden administration must put its weight behind a faster transition that reflects the urgency of this moment.
Here's what we need you to do today: Read our memo on why electric cars are so essential to the fight against the climate crisis and please share with your friends and family today.
Thanks for reading and sharing!
