If you still believe in the need for justice to be at the center of our country, read this email.
Hi John,
When I stood up last year and said I would fight for systemic change in the U.S. Senate, I was happily shocked at how many people signed up to join me. Along the way, I heard the stories, passions, and beliefs of some of the most incredible people I’ve ever met, including many of you -- who reached out and told me stories of the injustices you’ve experienced or witnessed.
The thing that seems to connect us is our shared belief that justice, true justice, is worth the fight. I’ll never forget you, the folks I met while visiting all of Iowa’s 99 counties, or your stories. That’s why I decided to fight again -- for justice -- and to launch my campaign for Polk County (A.K.A. District) Attorney.
I chose this office because, after 30 years of “business as usual” practices, policies, and politicians failing to deliver both justice and progress, I knew we needed to stop asking for change and start bringing the change.
We really are the ones we’ve been waiting for. You. Me. Us.
Winning this race to become a justice advocate for the nearly 500,000 people in Iowa’s most populous county won’t be easy. Still, after 22 years of advocating for abused and neglected children and for families in juvenile court, I know we can do this with your help.
The work has already begun. I’ve put together a list of priorities, an amazing team, and a passionate group of grassroots volunteers. The only person missing is you.
I know we’re all tired and the moral arc toward justice never bends fast enough but:
Do you still want to fight for Justice? I truly can’t do this without enough support and deeply appreciate your time, talents and treasure. Thank you, from my heart.
