Today is the 6th, and I thought it would be a good opportunity to ask you to chip in $6 to defend our district, IL-06.

And, before you can say it -- yes, I know that this is a fundraising gimmick.

There are a few things you should know this race:

Republicans are breaking fundraising records every month. The NRCC has millions in cash on hand -- and they’ll spend that targeting battleground seats like mine.

Illinois is about to lose a House seat due to redistricting. Republicans will use partisan gerrymandering to steal back the House majority.

My seat is crucial to maintaining our slim Democratic House Majority -- and making progress on creating a green economy and providing affordable healthcare for all.

Asking you for $6 on the 6th may be a silly gimmick, but the reasons to chip in couldn’t be more serious.

Online donations are critical to ensuring we have the resources to hire staff, train volunteers, and build out the grassroots organizing operation we need to win -- so today, will you chip in $6 to keep IL-06 BLUE?
