Dear John,

As part of our ongoing mission to educate patients and consumers about the rights, risks and responsibilities associated with prescription opioids, we are excited to announce
new resources ([link removed]) to help educate consumers around prescription opioid safety.

Developed in collaboration with the National Consumers League (NCL), the
AAOA-NCL Consumer Toolkit ([link removed]) provides a suite of materials to help reinforce the critical role patients, caregivers and parents play in keeping prescription opioids secure and preventing misuse and abuse.

The AAOA-NCL Consumer Toolkit addresses common questions that patients may have about their rights, risks and responsibilities associated with prescription opioids, and highlights key facts about opioid medications to prevent misuse before it occurs. The toolkit includes:
* “10 Things Consumers Should Know About Opioids ([link removed]) ”
* “Myths and Facts About Opioids ([link removed]) ”
* “Frequently Asked Questions About Opioids ([link removed]) ”
* “What You Can Do to Prevent Opioid Misuse and Abuse ([link removed]) ”

Additional resources for patients, caregivers, pharmacists and providers are available on the AAOA website ([link removed]) .

Join us in raising awareness of the rights, risks and responsibilities of prescription opioids and share these materials with your family, friends and coworkers.

Thank you for your ongoing support.

Sincerely,

Allied Against Opioid Abuse
