August is National Immunization Awareness Month, a time when we as a nation acknowledge the importance of vaccinations to help us fight against a wide variety of diseases.
Of course, this year it’s even more critical to highlight the lifesaving power of vaccines. With COVID-19 surging throughout the nation and the world, vaccines are our most potent tool to end this pandemic and save lives.
Unfortunately, people have been fed a steady dose of misinformation about vaccines, stoking fear, confusion, and hesitancy. We all need to do everything we can to put forth the truth and help people understand that vaccines are a safe and effective way to combat COVID-19.
