** Georgia prohibits all corporal punishment of children!

On 20 September 2019, Parliament adopted the Code on the Rights of the Child which explicitly prohibits corporal punishment in all settings. This makes Georgia the 58th state worldwide - and the 4th this year - to realise children's right to equal protection from assault.

Despite this great news, only 12% of the world's children are legally protected from all corporal punishment. We hold governments to account on their obligation to protect children and support national campaigns to end corporal punishment.
