John,

The countdown has begun to stop the spread of ghost guns.

The Justice Department just opened the public comment period for its proposed rule to regulate "ghost" guns — these untraceable, build-it-yourself firearms have quickly become the weapon of choice for violent crimes across the country.

In 2019, a student in Pennsylvania threatened to “shoot up” his school with a gun assembled from parts purchased online.¹

Once the public comment period closes, the Administration will make its final decision on the rule. With just a week left, we need to tell the Biden Administration that Americans support restricting ghost guns.

Just this spring, authorities raided a Pennsylvania home to find a half dozen illegal ghost guns, 80% receiver kits, nearly $1 million worth of meth, and Nazi paraphernalia.²

These are precisely the types of hands we need to keep guns out of, yet the ghost guns loophole allows dangerous individuals to purchase nearly-assembled firearms.

The NRA is already urging its supporters to add public comments against this rule. That's why it's critical the Department of Justice hears your support and implements federal restrictions on ghost guns.

Can you take two minutes to leave a comment in support of ending ghost guns?

My home state of Pennsylvania is not alone in experiencing the damage from the treachery of ghost guns. Together, we can make every community safer by taking life-saving action.
