Inaction has consequences.

While the members of the PA legislature have been home in their districts this month, Pennsylvania has continued to suffer from gun violence every day. This has been a particularly devastating week in Philadelphia, with whole families lost in two separate shootings. Policies we have long been fighting for could have made a difference in protecting these families, yet Harrisburg refuses to recognize the role it must play in making our communities safer.

This week, a young woman shot her husband, her two young children and herself with a gun she had purchased just before the shooting.  Family and neighbors realized the woman was “distraught.” What if there had been a process in place to legally block her -- at least temporarily -- from buying that gun?

The Extreme Risk Protection Order bills sitting in the House and Senate Judiciary Committees would do just that. How much longer do we need to wait?

Please email your State Senator and tell them to ask leadership to run this bill!
