Friend,

With California experiencing more and more severe wildfire seasons, we desperately need dedicated federal dollars to help us tackle this issue head on.

Through our federal lobbying around President Biden’s infrastructure plan to build back better, CLCV is strongly advocating for billions of dollars
specifically designed and allocated for mitigating and preventing wildfires.

Last year, California experienced the worst wildfire season on record, killing and injuring dozens, burning over 4 million acres and costing over $12 billion. We don't have anymore time to waste on addressing this issue.

In our own recent polling, we found that Californians across the political spectrum- including self-identified Democrats, Independents and Republicans- share our urgency and concern about wildfires. We’re encouraged to know this is a universal, non-partisan issue, and Californians want federal support on wildfire mitigation and prevention.

And that’s where you come in, Friend. With your support, CLCV has been able to expand its advocacy efforts federally, to ensure California’s needs are represented in the opportunities the Biden-Harris Administration pursues. We have been working with our California Congressional delegation, and need to continue this crucial work now. It is only through consistent advocacy, accountability, and transparency that we know solutions to the climate crisis will be enacted.

Please make a gift by 5pm on August 6th to help fund CLCVs vital federal advocacy program. This is a once in a generation moment to do something enormous to address the climate crisis, and we hope you will join us.

We hope you can join us today, as we advocate for more resources to prevent wildfires.

In solidarity,

Mike Young

We believe that radical change is necessary and only by transforming our political system will we create the opportunity to take bold action on climate change. We elect and cultivate environmental champions, turn election victories into policy wins, hold our lawmakers accountable, and build political power for change. We inspire hope and action and fight for equity and justice for all Californians. We are in the business of changing what’s possible.
