Dear Friend,

Today marks the tragic anniversary of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. As we remember the hundreds of thousands who died in the attack, it is difficult to accept that the Government wants to increase its stockpile of much more powerful nuclear weapons.

In case you missed the news, earlier this year the Government announced plans for a massive 40% increase in the UK's nuclear arsenal, breaking international law and reversing three decades of gradual reductions.

CND is working urgently to oppose these plans, and is reporting the UK to the UN for breaking international law. But we need your help.

Please, ([link removed]) don ([link removed]) ate ([link removed]) today ([link removed]) and help us campaign against the Government's new nuclear arms race. We urgently need funds to pay for the leaflets, advertising, demonstrations and meetings that are needed to give voice to the overwhelming opposition to the Government's illegal warhead increase.

And please take part in our campaign to report the UK to the UN by signing our petition ([link removed]) . The more signatures we collect, the stronger our voice will be.
I hope I can count on your support.
In peace,
Kate Hudson
General Secretary
