John,
The Board of Regents is considering a resolution that calls on the Regents to oppose critical race theory in our taxpayer-funded universities.
Our party's platform opposes critical race theory and makes an explicit call to members of the Regents to oppose its presence in state-funded education programs, "We oppose the instruction of foreign customs and culture, as well as revisionist history, including Sharia law, the 1619 Project and Critical Race Theory in our education system," the platform reads, "and call on school board members and university regents to strongly resist the use of public schools and finances to teach principles hostile to the founding principles, native customs and legitimate history of the United States."
It is critical that you reach out and make your position known to your Regent (their information is listed below). Right now regents are only hearing from leftwing professors and social justice-types who are seeking to preserve this anti-American curriculum in our schools as part of a broader leftwing takeover of the universities.
If you are able, you should attend the meeting where the resolution is scheduled to be considered. That meeting is scheduled for Friday, August 13 at 9 am at Varner Hall, 3835 Holdrege Street in Lincoln, Nebraska.
