Kansas Democrats are persisting in the battle against Republican attempts to corrupt our redisticting process -- and it's paying off. The Kansas GOP has received constant backlash against their hasty schedule for redistricting town halls designed to suppress the voices of working Kansans. This has led to House Speaker Ron Ryckman announcing a second round of hearings after next week's 5-day, 14-stop public hearing tour.

The news that next week's hearings are only the beginning of public participation in Kansas' redistricting process is a win for voters statewide. Kansans deserve better than hasty town halls scheduled with short-notice in the middle of the workday.
