Governor DeWine Appoints Preisse to Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic and Juvenile Division
(COLUMBUS, Ohio)?Ohio Governor Mike DeWine today announced the appointment of Dana S. Preisse to the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas, Domestic and Juvenile Division.
Preisse, of Dublin, Ohio, will assume office on August 16, 2021, and will be taking the seat formerly held by Judge Terri Jamison, who has been elected to a different bench. Preisse's appointed term to the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas will expire on January 4, 2025, she must run to retain the seat in 2022.?She previously held the bench for 24 years.
Before first being elected in 1996, Preisse was in a private practice for over 11 years, focusing on litigation and family law.?
In 2002, Preisse established the first drug court in Franklin County, Family Recovery Court for substance-dependent parents who have lost or are at-risk of losing custody of their children to the state.
In prior positions, she has served as an Administrative Judge and Lead Juvenile Judge for the Franklin County Court.
Preisse received her law degree from the Capital University Law School. Prior to that, she earned her undergraduate degree at The Ohio State University.?
In the past, she was a member of the Columbus and Ohio State Bar Association, and sat on?both the Juvenile Law and Procedure and Domestic Law and Procedure Committees for the Ohio Judicial Conference.?Preisse is currently a Board Member for the Center for Family Safety and Healing, and was a Trustee for the Ohio Association of Juvenile Court Judges. Additionally, she served as President of the Ohio Association of Domestic Relations Judges.
