# [#]John,
ICYMI: last week, Simone Biles withdrew from the Olympic gymnastics competitions saying she was carrying “the weight of the world” on her shoulders and she needed to focus on her mental health.
If you ask me, Biles is an American hero, not just for being the greatest gymnast of all time, but also for being a champion of mental health.
Her decision took an enormous amount of courage and reminded the world that we have to look out for our personal health and mental health. Unfortunately, this past year has been incredibly detrimental to America’s mental health.
That is why as Chairwoman of the Health Subcommittee, I’m committed to fixing America’s broken mental health care system. Join me in support of increased investments in our mental health care system >> [[link removed]]ADD YOUR NAME [[link removed]]
I’ve fought to include funding to expand affordable mental health care services in recent spending packages and my Subcommittee continues to work on suicide prevention and ensuring every person can access the mental health care they need.
There’s so much more work to be done to meet the needs of the American people. Add your name now to support expanding mental health care services >> [[link removed]]
Thanks for joining me in this fight,
Anna
