Quality, affordable health care has always been a top priority for Tammy, folks — and it’s an issue close to her heart.

When Tammy was just nine years old, she was diagnosed with a serious illness and spent three months in the hospital. When she got better, her grandparents who raised her tried to find an insurance policy that could cover her in the future.

But they couldn’t find one — not at any price — because she was labeled “child with a pre-existing condition.”

So when Tammy was elected to Congress, she got right to work finding legislative solutions to make health care more affordable so that no other family would have to endure the sleepless nights her grandparents did, worrying about how they would afford her care if she fell sick again.

Tammy supported the Affordable Care Act and its protections for folks with pre-existing conditions — and she has fought to protect it every day since. She championed health reform that allows young people to stay on their parents’ insurance plans up to age 26 so that no other family would have to face the rejection that she and her grandparents endured while searching for a policy that would cover her.

On top of that, Tammy has introduced legislation to expand Medicare to folks 50 and up. She’s a co-sponsor of Medicare for All. And just last month, she introduced a bill to expand affordable health care for folks who have been shut out of Medicaid coverage in states like Wisconsin. For Tammy, this fight is personal.

When it comes to protecting and expanding affordable health care, Tammy will never back down. Chip in now to support her campaign and keep her fighting for us in Washington:
