Friend,

Mad likes to stay up-to-date on the issues most important to her supporters, so last month we sent out a survey to hear about your top priorities. We promised to report back, and now we’re doing just that! Here's a little bit of what we're passing along to Mad:

Your top issue areas are:
Protecting the environment
Health care
Social justice

Mad shares these priorities with you, and we’ll keep you in the loop on how she’s advancing these and other issues important to our district.

One such topic many of you mentioned? Voting rights. On this front, Mad continues to push for permanent federal protections like H.R. 1 and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act.

And because so many of you gave such thoughtful answers, we also wanted to share a few responses from our survey:

Peter, like Mad, knows that a clean and livable environment must come first.

"All the priorities listed above are important, but unless we deal with climate change they won’t really matter in the long run."

Mad and Victoria agree that we must fairly fund infrastructure.

"We need to tax the 1% in order to fund infrastructure."

Deneen shared that infrastructure is critical.

"Big businesses use our roads, our highways, and bridges to ship their goods, and those very same roads need repaving due to the wear and tear of big trucks. Big businesses should pay their fair share of taxes so we can afford to fund our infrastructure to keep our roads safe and driveable."

Like Mad, Bill knows we must first fight for truth, transparency, and decency in Congress.

"Frankly, all these issues need to be addressed but first I believe we have to fix a dysfunctional government. I support Representative Dean and have since she first entered the race. How do we get more people like her in government?"

Jean shares Mad's concern that we must fight for a livable environment for all.

"I am very concerned about climate change, and I believe we need to do more NOW to reduce emissions."

Susan and Mad want to ensure that everyone who can get vaccinated does so.

"I wish I had magic powers to vaccinate all the people who are waiting to be able to receive the vaccine... and to somehow convince people who are resistant to being vaccinated just how critical it is."

And, thank you to Don for the kind words – we'll be sure to pass them onto Mad!

"I bought and read you and your son's children's book. It was wonderful and I've placed it in our recovery library at Voices of Hope in Elkton, Maryland. Now I'll read Under Our Roof. Thank you and your family for your tenacious advocacy for humane treatment and recovery services."

If you have other thoughts you'd like for us to report back to Mad, you can take our quick survey here.: [link removed]?.
