MSNBC News (8/2/2021): Republican officials press Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade

Team:

Last fall, as Senate Republicans rushed to confirm Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, Democrats sounded the alarm: A 6-3 conservative majority on the Supreme Court would almost certainly overturn Roe v. Wade.

Back then, Republicans told us to “calm down,” claiming that our reproductive rights weren’t at stake.

And yet just last week, nearly 230 Republican members of Congress—including 44 Senate Republicans—signed a letter asking the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade

After YEARS of posturing and false reassurances, congressional Republicans are showing their true colors: Overturning Roe has been their goal all along.

Kirsten has been fighting tirelessly to protect our reproductive rights—because for far too long, the conversation about what women can do with our own bodies has been driven by a small group of right-wing male politicians. It’s time for that conversation to be led by the actual experts: women and their doctors.

We need to keep Kirsten in the Senate so she can continue to speak out about important issues like this. Will you make a contribution to support her reelection campaign now?

We’ve known all along that anti-choice extremists will stop at NOTHING to deny 51 percent of our country their most fundamental rights. We have to get loud, we have to get angry, and we have to take action.

Thank you for standing with Kirsten when it matters most.
