John,
The Community Justice Action Fund has some major news to share, and I wanted you to be the first to know:
After five amazing years leading this organization, I am thrilled to announce that Greg Jackson will be coming on board as our next Executive Director.
I’m so proud of everything we’ve accomplished over these past five years. With your support, we’ve changed the conversation around gun violence prevention to focus on the people and communities that are most impacted.
And I couldn’t be more excited to announce that my good friend, and CJAF’s National Advocacy Director, Greg Jackson, will be succeeding me as our next Executive Director.
I feel beyond privileged to have founded and led the Community Justice Action Fund for the past five years, and I cannot think of a better successor than Greg.
I founded CJAF because it was clear to me that addressing the epidemic of gun violence would require centering the conversation around survivors and communities most affected by it. Since then, we elevated our own stories, demanded a seat at the table where decisions were being made, and began prioritizing community solutions to end gun violence.
That’s why I am so proud to introduce you to our next Executive Director, Greg Jackson.
Greg represents everything I love about this movement. As a gun violence survivor himself, Greg personally understands the pain and trauma that gun violence causes communities of color.
And that’s why he’s dedicated his life to this cause. He’s been a passionate leader in our movement, a staunch advocate for community solutions to gun violence, and an integral part of our team at CJAF.
There’s no one more qualified than Greg to take on this role. I’m hoping you’ll join me in welcoming Greg by watching our video and sharing it with your friends.
