Yesterday was day 4 of my walk across the Granite State — walking in the shoes of New Hampshirites.

My walk began from Peterborough and ended in Mont Vernon, with some idyllic scenery along the way!

In the morning I took a quick detour to Derry New Hampshire to meet with the local chamber of commerce. Derry is nicknamed "Spacetown" as it is the birthplace of Alan Shepard, a fellow US Naval Academy graduate, former Rear Admiral & first American in space. So the conversation with the Chamber of Commerce focused on jobs of the future!

Next, I returned to the walk. Along the path down mountain road I had several media interviews - including a walk-along with the Guardian - and a few visits with the incredible people of New Hampshire. First, I stopped by Plowshare Farm, which helps those with disabilities share joy, work, and meaningful lives in a caring community. Second, I got some delicious, locally famous brittle from Maple Lane Farm in Lyndeborough, which I highly recommend!

I then stuck a stake in the ground and drove to speak to local Democrats in New Boston and in Bow, before driving back to walk until late at night in a nor'easter. I finished up around midnight!

I’m now kicking off day 5, where I’ll be traveling from Mont Vernon to Manchester. For my schedule for the day, please check out our events page ( here [[link removed]] ).
