Utah is joining 23 other states in filing a “friend of the court” brief in a Mississippi case calling to end Roe v. Wade. Even though polling shows that over 60% of Americans don't want Roe v. Wade repealed, the GOP doesn't care.
That is why we need to call on Congress and President Biden to act now to protect reproductive rights. In 1973, Roe v. Wade established that it was illegal for states to ban abortions before fetal viability on the basis of the patient's right to privacy. But we've seen GOP leaders across the country attack this precedent time and time again.
We can do something to stop them in their tracks -- we can codify Roe v. Wade. We can pass federal legislation that guarantees reproductive rights for all Americans. Even if GOP leaders oppose the majority of Americans and try to overturn Roe v. Wade, we can still protect the right to choose.
Providing safe and accessible reproductive health care, the right to choose, and the right to privacy were core promises of Chuy's campaign, and he will fight to uphold these promises each and every day. But he needs your voice to call on Congress to codify Roe v. Wade and protect reproductive rights. That's why we're asking now:
